Williamsport 9, South Hagerstown 3

WILLIAMSPORT — Justin Taylor had two hits, including a three-run homer, and four RBIs to lead Williamsport past South Hagerstown on Wednesday.

Robert Carr had four hits and Jake Arnone had two hits and an RBI for the Wildcats (11-1). Trevor Knode had two RBIs and Jaustin Itnyre and Matt Harsh each added an RBI.

Logan Wilmoth (5-0) pitched 5 2/3 innings for the win, allowing three runs and five hits while striking out four.

For South, McCoy Dutrow had two hits and Dawson Hottinger and Anthony Hodges each had an RBI.

Smithsburg 10, Clear Spring 7

SMITHSBURG — Cameron Kutchey had four hits and an RBI and Ryan Bywaters hit two solo home runs for Smithsburg in a win over Clear Spring on Wednesday.

Cameron Snyder had two hits and RBI, Austin Moser and Garrett Kercheval each added an RBI each.

John Carter went 4 2/3 innings to get the win and Kutchey tossed a scoreless seventh for the save.

For Clear Spring, Alex Avey had two hits, including a home run, and two RBIs, AJ Yost had two hits, including a home run, and Cory Sensenbaugh had two hits and two RBIs.

Atlantic Shores 8, St. Maria Goretti 3

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — Chandler Penn had three hits for St. Maria Goretti in a loss to Atlantic Shores Christian on Wednesday at the Mingo Bay Classic.

Atlantic Shores scored six runs in the top of the 10th to break a 2-2 tie.

Starter Bryant Shives pitched eight innings with two strikeouts for the Gaels (9-4).

Southern Fulton 6, Tussey Mountain 0

WARFORDSBURG, Pa. — Mitch Potter tossed six innings and allowed just one hit with nine strikeouts to lead Southern Fulton past Tussey Mountain on Wednesday in a Sideling Hill League matchup.

Gabe Stotler had two hits and two RBIs and Cooper Grove had two RBIs for the Indians (7-2), while Dylan Gordon and Eaven Gordon each had two hits and Branden Lynch had an RBI.

Southern Fulton broke the scoreless tie in the bottom of the fifth with five runs.

Jefferson 11, Brockport (N.Y.) 3

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — Jefferson broke a brief two-game losing streak with a convincing win over Brockport (N.Y.) in the Mingo Bay Classic on Wednesday.

The Cougars (12-3) combined nine hits and seven walks and took charge of the game with a six-run second inning.

Cole Walker and Austin Bulman had two hits apiece and Bulman drove in two runs. Taylor Tennant went 4 2/3 innings, allowing two hits and two runs to gain the victory.

Jefferson plays Pigeon Forge (Tenn.) today at 3:30 p.m.

Canfield (Ohio) 12, Martinsburg 1

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — Martinsburg was held to six hits in a loss to Canfield (Ohio) in the Mingo Bay Classic.

Noah Britner had a pair of hits for the Bulldogs (8-10). He scored Martinsburg’s lone run in the fourth inning when he singled and stole the next three bases.

Musselman 4, Bishop O’Connell 3

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — After surrendering a lead in the top of the seventh, Musselman rallied with two runs in the bottom half to pull out the win during its Mingo Bay Classic game Wednesday.

Brett Linton delivered the winning two-run blow for Musselman (6-11).

Spring Mills 6, Jordan Eldridge (N.Y.) 1

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — Noah Wiggins threw six innings of three-hit baseball to lead Spring Mills (11-9) in its Mingo Bay Classic game Wednesday.

Colby Werry had two hits and Hunter Munson drove in two runs.

Allegany 5, Hancock 4

CUMBERLAND, Md. — On Tuesday, Hancock outhit Allegany 5-4 but couldn’t outscore the Campers. The Panthers fell to 7-5.

BOONSBORO — Lauren Longerbeam had three hits, including a double, and drove in five runs to lead Boonsboro in a five-inning rout of North Hagerstown on Wednesday.

Karly Payne had two hits, including a double, and three RBIs, while Grace Roupe and Brooke Singleton each had two hits and three RBIs for the Warriors (10-2).

Also for Boonsboro, Hannah Stewart had two hits and two RBIs and Alayna Pettyjohn added two hits, including a triple. Roupe (4-0) picked up the win, allowing one earned run on four hits while striking out four in five innings.

Williamsport 13, South Hagerstown 3

WILLIAMSPORT — Emily Talbert had three hits and drove in three runs, while also striking out nine and allowing just two hits in four innings of relief to guide Williamsport past South Hagerstown in five innings on Wednesday.

Ciera Beaver had three hits, including a double, and an RBI and Ashley Bachtell had two hits, including a triple, and an RBI for the Wildcats (8-4).

For South, Shelbi Robinette and Ashlyn Brawner each had an RBI double, Amaya Shirley had an RBI and Katlin Wolfe had four strikeouts.

Poca (S.C.) 8, Jefferson 3

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — Jefferson held a one-run lead through four innings before Poca (S.C.) exploded for five runs in the fifth inning Wednesday to top the Cougars in the Mingo Bay Classic.

Britney Colina had a two-run hit in the second inning to give Jefferson (12-12) a 2-0 lead.

Devan Day and Karra Smith had two hits apiece for the Cougars.

Tussey Mountain 4, Southern Fulton 2

WARFORDSBURG, Pa. — Macey Ward had three hits for Southern Fulton in Wednesday’s loss.

Maddie Baker had two hits and Erica Hoffman and Kierstyn Morton each had an RBI for the Indians.

Molly McCook had a goal, an assist and five draw controls for South Hagerstown in a loss to visiting Thomas Johnson on Wednesday.

The Hawks edged the Trojans by a run in the opener as Alexis Shearer had two hits and an RBI. Madison Clark and Killana Wallace each had an RBI and Madison Bachtell picked up the win in the circle.

In the second game for HCC, Shearer, the winning pitcher, had four hits and an RBI, Bachtell had four hits and three RBIs, Niki Marshall had three hits and six RBIs, Gabby Danner had three hits and an RBI and Katie Gelsinger had two hits and an RBI.

Bruce Levin waited 43 years to get his second hole-in-one. Recently he aced the 138-yard No. 3 with a 9-iron at Beaver Creek Country Club. He was playing with Cliff Bridgeford and Daryl Michael.

Veteran Charlie Hawkins recorded his fourth career hole-in-one, knocking in his shot with a 4-iron from 160 yards on the 16th hole at Beaver Creek. His shot was witnessed by Vicki Grimm, Jim Young and Don Baker.
