“We live in an era that finds many small businesses simply trying to stay afloat, and many American workers wondering where they might find honest employment,” Ballard says. “As such, it is a boon to all of us to find an American company bringing more jobs to American employees. The fact that it is a Tampa-based company is a source of additional pride, but ultimately, this is the kind of positive economic news that we all ought to celebrate.”
The new WellCare jobs will be based in a call center in the North Lauderdale area. They are not the first jobs the company has created in Florida; in fact, over the past year and a half, WellCare has brought roughly 740 positions to the State of Florida. The call center has already begun fielding calls, and is expected to be fully operational before the end of the summer.
Ballard says these new jobs will benefit the state in many ways. “Obviously, more jobs is always a good thing, and there are plenty of well-deserving Florida families that will be richly blessed by these new jobs,” he says. “However, one also hopes that these new jobs will further stimulate economic growth and job creation throughout the state. Florida is a state with many proud business owners, and they would love nothing more than the opportunities to offer more jobs to more Florida natives.”
