The ANC is expected to send its report on its investigation into allegations that the Gupta family is influencing government decisions to Cabinet in a fortnight, Minister in the Presidency Jeff Radebe said.
“There is a process taking place from the ANC’s side,” Radebe said at a post-Cabinet briefing on Friday.
“Within the next Cabinet meeting we will get a proper report on that,” he added.
The ANC said that it would look into the matter after Deputy Finance Minister Mcebisi Jonas publically said that the Gupta family has offered him the position of finance minister just weeks before Nhlanhla Nene was fired in December last year.
Since then a number of high ranking government officials have claimed that the Guptas had offered them ministerial positions in exchange for business concessions.
The Gupta family has a number of business interests in South Africa, including mining interests, media firms and a computer manufacturing business.
The family has close ties to President Jacob Zuma.
