Donald E. Davis

Donald E. Davis, 86, of Lewistown, died at 10 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 24, 2016, at his home.

Born Dec. 8, 1929, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late George F. and Mona (Weyandt) Davis.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: his step mother, Freda Davis; his first wife, Esther M. Partchey, in March 2000; a daughter, Cheryl L. Moser, in 2013; his second wife, Helen E. (Eby) Davis, on April 17, 2010; two brothers, Harry and Johnnie Davis; and a sister, Mary Magill.

He is survived by: daughter, Loretta Davis, of Lewistown; step children, Susan Leder and husband, Dan, of Houston, Texas, Albert Habbershon and wife, Amanda, of Bellevue, Neb., and Steven Hoar, of Lewistown; brothers, Thomas Davis and wife, Paula, of Lewistown, Melvin Davis and wife, Kristine, of Bellefonte, David Davis and wife, Mary, of Bethlehem, and George Davis, of Okla.; sisters, Shirley Alexander, of Lewistown, Susan McHenry, of Johnstown, Finda Bashore, of Punta Gorda, Fla.; step sister, Shirley Alexander, of Lewistown; grandchildren, Shania Wolfley, of Lewistown, Hannah Davis, of Lewistown, Jesse Moser Jr., of Mertztown, Reagan and Wyatt Habbershon, of Neb., Stephanie Hughes and Michelle Irby, both of Texas; and great-grandchild- ren, Isaac, Ayden and Liam Hughes and Hunter Irby.

Donald served in the U.S. Army and Air Force during WWII.

Earlier in life, he worked at FMC Corp., Marcus Hook, and then later for Overhead Door for 18 years, retiring in 1995.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and camping with his family. He liked to feed birds and animals. Don enjoyed visiting his lifelong friend, George Craig, every Wednesday in State College.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 28, at Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Kenneth Grove officiating.

A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 27, at the funeral home.

Interment with VFW Post 7011 honors will take place in Mt. Rock Cemetery.
