A recent survey conducted by Xometry, in partnership with Forbes and John Zogby Strategies, found that 48% of CEOs have already reshored some or all their facilities, which is a substantial increase from last quarter’s 35%.

While various industries can benefit from reshoring, it can be challenging to know where to start. In the latest episode of the Thomas Industry Podcast, Chris Adams, a senior project manager for the Advanced Robotics for Manufacturing (ARM) Institute, provided expert insight into where companies should begin if they want to reshore some or all of their operations.

Along the way, he explores the role automation will play in reshoring. ARM is on a mission to pave a path toward a future where people and robots work together to optimize businesses. Adams explained how ARM is training the next generation of industrial roboticists and retaining tribal knowledge from industry experts nearing retirement, which will help set American businesses up for success.

Where Should Companies Begin When Reshoring Operations?

When companies make the decision to reshore, there are numerous factors to consider, including costs and ending foreign contracts. Even business leaders who have been through the process before in their careers understand the value of turning to reshoring experts for guidance and to grow their network.

Adams explained that a good place to begin the reshoring process is by becoming an ARMs member.
