“Our customers want U.S.-made products,” Plouse President Dale Seitz said in a statement.
Swatara Township-based Plouse’s orders hit a five-year high in 2012, according to the statement.
Orders growth year over year was 21 percent, and about 13 percent over 2007, said Marc Waldeck, a spokesman for Plouse with Baltimore-based marketing firm Brave New Markets.
Components and subassemblies to larger machines and products that were once built offshore are now returning, putting them closer to U.S.-based final assembly, Plouse said.
Other manufacturers are seeing similar business growth this year.
