As technology continues to drive the global economy, the importance of reshoring semiconductor manufacturing to Canada is becoming more critical. This initiative is seen as a significant leap forward for North America’s electronics industry, positioning Canada as a key player in this strategic shift.
But can this ambitious goal be achieved? And what will it take to bring all the necessary elements together? These questions will be front and center at the Eptech show in Montreal, where Tiphaine Fillon, vice-president of business development at Technum Quebec, will deliver a keynote address on September 10th at 10:30 a.m. at the Double Tree Par Hilton Pointe-Claire Montreal Airport.

“Reshoring semiconductor production to Canada is not only of geopolitical significance, particularly given the tensions between China and Taiwan, but it’s also essential for cybersecurity in today’s tech-driven world,” explains Fillon. She says that Western countries are committing substantial resources to bolster semiconductor manufacturing and build more robust supply chains in both North America and Europe. She points to two major funding initiatives driving this effort: the U.S. CHIPS and Science Act and the European Chips Act.
ns as a pilot, Fillon brings a solid foundation in management, planning and sales within technical fields. Driven by a passion for projects that have a tangible and positive impact on society, she is a true driving force within Technum Quebec,
