Amid ongoing reshoring initiatives through the U.S., Streator Dependable is working to bolster American manufacturing by providing custom manufacturing to the agricultural, automotive, and tire and rubber industries — a commitment it’s had since its founding in 1945 in Streator, Illinois.
Streator Dependable proudly serves all branches of the U.S. military, providing material handling equipment, trailers, bases, reels, and assorted OEM parts.
“My grandfather, Lawrence Walker, founded Streator Dependable with the intent of maintaining a state of continual expansion and improvements in hopes of continuing to support his family and the people of this community for multiple generations,” said Paul Walker, president of Streator Dependable.
Specializing in the fabrication of steel material handling products, Streator Dependable provides design, engineering, laser cutting, welding, and powder coating services. Utilizing an extensive database, designs can be modified to fit custom jobs or created from the ground-up.
“While we have grown into a facility of over 240,000 square feet of manufacturing capacity, our commitment to continually improve our processes and deliver quality products to our customers remains the same. Those core values, established by my grandfather, aimed at providing high-quality products for each unique customer.”
To avoid a one-size-fits-all approach, Streator Dependable works closely with all of its customers utilizing AutoCAD and SolidWorks to design and create custom industrial fabrications. Using customer-supplied O.E.M parts or drawings, they laser cut steel sizes up to 6’x12’x1”. They have 40 MIG welders for steel, aluminum, and stainless steel parts.
The implementation of a quality management system in 2009, along with an in-house welding department employing 20 overhead cranes with 2,000-pound capacity and a press department for plasma-cutting material, has driven continual improvement and helped ensure customer satisfaction.
From bulk storage bins and baskets to racking designed for complex applications, Streator Dependable manufacturers all of its products in the U.S. This allows the 76-year-old business to offer shortened lead times, reduced delivery costs, and an ISO 9001:2015 certified standard of safety and quality control.
