Trump brushes off Cruz ‘tantrum’ remarks

MANCHESTER, N.H. — Donald Trump brushed off attacks from Texas Sen. Ted Cruz that the real estate tycoon was having a “temper tantrum” after his second-place finish in the Iowa caucuses.

“I think it’s fine,” Trump told the Herald about the jibes. “I built a great company, created tremendous jobs. I think it’s fine — it’s called politics.

“I’m only thinking about New Hampshire, that’s all,” he said, adding that he did “really well” in Iowa.

Cruz tore into Trump yesterday for tweeting that election officials in Iowa should order a new election or nullify the results of the election

“It is no surprise that Donald is having another temper tantrum. Donald finds it very hard to lose,” Cruz said yesterday.

Cruz, who beat Trump in Iowa by 3 percentage points, added that Trump’s insults “get more and more hysterical.”

Trump said today he maintains that “everybody knows that a lot of fishy stuff” went on in the Iowa contest. “Nobody believes what happened.”

But for now Trump claims he’s beyond it, focusing instead on the Granite State.

“It’s something I’d like to win,” Trump said to reporters. “I’ve been here a lot. I have great relationship with the people of New Hampshire. I love them. I mean, they are amazing people.

“I think we are going to do well here. Do you have to? No, you don’t have to. But I think I’m going to do well,” Trump said.

Trump also swung through Exeter, packing the town hall there with supporters — even as the fire marshal capped the attendance which sent away scores of voters and about a dozen reporters.

The billionaire developer told the crowd inside that it was “wonderful” that President Obama visited a mosque yesterday, adding though that the United States should not let more Muslim people into the country.

“We can’t allow these people to come here because we don’t know who the hell they are,” Trump said. “Look what happened in California, with two young radicalized people, a couple. Look at the damage they did.”

Trump pledged to smarten up the federal government to save billions on items like drug costs and also strike a deal to have companies reshore trillions in overseas profits.

“CEOs don’t have the great loyalty I have,” he said. “Frankly, if they move around they are looking for the best deal, and that’s a dangerous thing.”
